So much has happened since we drafted the Bolt 100K Open Source Fund announcement for 2025. Bolt usage has kept growing, and the community around it continues to shape what we build next. One of the keys to Bolt's success has been the Open Source ecosystem it builds on and the maintainers who keep that ecosystem moving.
We didn't end up publishing the 2025 fund update at the time, and some of the new sponsorships listed in that draft were not applied then. We're fixing that now. As part of this renewal, we're applying the remaining 2025 sponsorships and expanding the fund with a new 2026 round.
StackBlitz built bolt.new and WebContainers on top of incredible Open Source projects. We sincerely appreciate the developers building the tools, libraries, and infrastructure we rely on every day. As we grow, we want to keep committing resources back to the people and projects that make this work possible.
In 2025, we set out to expand our support beyond the Vite ecosystem into more of the libraries Bolt depends on. We continued supporting web infrastructure projects and maintainers across language tooling, testing, package management, editor infrastructure, WebAssembly, and the broader JavaScript ecosystem.
In 2026, we're renewing our support to Open Source, applying the remaining 2025 sponsorships, and expanding the Bolt Open Source Fund with a new round of monthly sponsorships.
This new round adds $1,700/month in sponsorships on top of our existing Open Source support. Our new monthly run-rate will be $11,333/month.

Open Source FTW
Apart from these contributions and hiring Open Source maintainers, we also maintain Open Source dev tools. pkg.pr.new, led by Mohammad Bagher Abiyat and AmirHossein Sakhravi, provides continuous releases for GitHub projects. TutorialKit allows projects to create interactive tutorials that run in your browser.
We also continue to support the ecosystem around bolt.diy, the largest community fork of the Open Source Bolt template. The project moved to the StackBlitz GitHub org in 2025 and keeps showing how much the community can build on top of Bolt, WebContainers, and Open Source AI tooling.
