The world showed up.

With over 130,000 builders registered, the 2025 Bolt Hackathon was the largest hackathon ever held. For four weeks in June, creators from every continent built, shipped, and launched in Bolt, pushing the boundaries of what AI-powered apps can do.

AI enthusiasts around the world watched as the winners were announced live at in-person parties across San Francisco, New York, Toronto, Boston, Seattle, Manchester, and Lisbon.

This year's winners redefined what solo visionaries can achieve with the right tools and a bold idea. Here's a closer look at the three top apps.

Grand Prize: Tailored Labs by Adrian Humphrey

Tailored Labs, the Grand Prize winner of the 2025 Bolt Hackathon, is an AI-powered video timeline editor that transforms raw, chaotic footage into polished, professional edits using natural language commands.

It's built for creators who don't have time to spend hours cutting filler, trimming silence, and manually dragging clips around a timeline.

Here's how it works:

  • Upload your raw footage: Drop in raw footage, including uncut interviews, podcast recordings, shaky B-roll, multiple takes with 47 "ums" and 12 awkward silences. No prep required.
  • AI finds the gold, cuts the junk: Tailored Labs uses AI to review the entire video, cut dead air, remove filler words, sync audio, and identify the best moments. It handles 8 hours of editing work in just 4 minutes, automatically.
  • Get your 10-minute masterpiece: You're left with a tight, engaging edit: clean pacing, smooth transitions, and no timeline dragging required. Just one-shot, production-ready content.

It's a total game-changer for creators, editors, marketers, and anyone who wants to produce high-quality video content fast.

Second Place: Weight Coach by Sergiy Dybskiy

Weight Coach, our second place winner, is AI meal planning meets real-life grocery scanning. Weight Coach makes healthy eating easy by letting users:

  • Scan groceries with a phone camera
  • Plan meals by speaking to the app
  • Get personalized nutrition insights and recipe suggestions

Here's how it works:

  • Instant recognition: Point your phone at your groceries, and the app instantly identifies what's there, no barcodes, no typing. From pantry staples to fresh produce, Weight Coach knows what's in your kitchen and what's possible with it.
  • Smart learning: The more you use it, the better it gets. Weight Coach learns your dietary preferences, cooking habits, and favorite cuisines. Whether you're low-carb, vegan, or just trying to eat a little cleaner, it adapts to your lifestyle over time.
  • Thoughtful guidance: Ask Weight Coach what you can make with what you've got, and it'll suggest personalized meals you can start right now, including step-by-step guidance.

Weight Coach helps you use what's expiring, avoid food waste, and stay on track with your nutrition goals, all while making cooking feel simple.

Third Place: KeyHaven by Tommy Thomas

KeyHaven, the third place winner, tackles a problem every developer and engineering team runs into eventually: API key chaos.

As your stack grows, so does the sprawl: secrets in plaintext files, credentials scattered across dashboards, expired keys that break your integrations. KeyHaven fixes all of that with a clean, secure, all-in-one platform for managing the entire lifecycle of your API keys.

Here's how it works:

  • Secure storage and lifecycle management: KeyHaven is your single source of truth for API secrets. Store keys securely with bank-level encryption and Row Level Security, track who has access, and set up automated rotation policies to keep your services protected.
  • Unified API analytics: Forget jumping between dashboards. KeyHaven gives you a centralized view of usage, performance, and cost across all your API providers, with detailed breakdowns by endpoint, error code, and response time.
  • Real-time monitoring and alerts: Set alerts for anomalies, usage spikes, or spend thresholds, and get notified before things break or budgets blow up. With real-time monitoring, your team stays ahead of incidents and security issues.

For any team that takes API security seriously, KeyHaven is the platform you wish you had sooner.

The future was built in June

The 2025 Bolt Hackathon proved that the next generation of apps will be built by anyone, from anywhere, with the right tools.

In addition to our top 10 winners, we also saw some ridiculously cool stuff dominate specific challenges, including the Make More Money, Blockchain, and Silly Shit challenges.

Finally, some of the most unique submissions we saw won the regional challenges across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA.

To everyone who built, shipped, and shared, thank you for being part of this. One thing is for sure: the future is already in production.

FAQ

FAQ

Bolt.new is an AI tool that builds working websites and apps from a plain-language description. You type what you want, Bolt builds it right in your browser, and you change anything just by asking. It is made by StackBlitz, and you do not need to know how to code to use it.

No. You describe what you want in everyday language, like a booking site for your salon with a calendar and a contact form, and Bolt.new builds it for you. The code is there if you ever want it, but you never have to touch it to get a working app.

Bolt.new builds full websites and web apps, including the parts people see and the behind-the-scenes pieces like databases, sign-ins, and payments. People use it for landing pages, online stores, booking tools, dashboards, internal tools, prototypes, and mobile apps. If you can describe it, you can usually build a working version of it.

You type what you want to build, and Bolt.new creates a working app you can see and use right away, all inside your web browser. From there you refine it by chatting, for example add a dark mode or move the sign-up button to the top, and Bolt updates the app each time. There is nothing to install, and you can publish it online when it is ready.

Bolt.new builds complete apps, the front end and the back end, and runs them live in your browser with nothing to install. It also hands you the actual code, so you are never locked into a closed system. Compared with tools that only produce a front-end mockup, Bolt focuses on a real, working app you can keep building on and take with you.

Yes. Bolt.new has a free plan that lets you start building right away with no credit card, using a monthly allowance of usage measured in tokens. Paid plans add more usage, a custom domain, and the option to remove Bolt branding. You can see the current plans at bolt.new/pricing.
